KMH Dyslexia Services
KMH Dyslexia Services is led by Kathryn Brown, a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience working in schools across West Yorkshire.
Kathryn has taught across all primary age ranges and worked extensively with children and young people with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). As a former Senior Leader in several schools, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a highly developed skill set to her work.
While serving as a Deputy Headteacher, Kathryn made the decision to specialise in education, tuition, and assessment, with a particular focus on dyslexia. This shift was deeply personal, inspired by the challenges her own children faced at school before being diagnosed with dyslexia. Her firsthand experience has fuelled a passion for advocating for learners and ensuring they receive the targeted support they need to succeed and build self-confidence.
A strong believer in the power of education, Kathryn is committed to helping all learners—children, young people, and adults—overcome barriers and reach their full potential. She understands that every learner is unique, and believes that success in education comes from thoughtful intervention and personalised support.
Known for her caring, enthusiastic, and inclusive approach, Kathryn is passionate about creating a curriculum that works for all. She believes that a dyslexia diagnosis, combined with teaching tailored to a learner’s needs, can have a transformative impact—building self-esteem and unlocking academic achievement.
Kathryn is a Specialist Dyslexia Teacher with Accredited Teacher Status and is also qualified to assess children with SpLD. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties, is an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association, and has Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) status.
