KMH Dyslexia Services is run by Kathryn Brown. Kathryn has over 25 years’ experience working in education and schools across West Yorkshire.
Kathryn has taught all primary age ranges and has worked extensively with children and young people with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). Kathryn was a Senior Leader across several schools and has a highly developed skill set.
Kathryn was a Deputy Headteacher when she decided to focus on specialist education, tuition and assessments with a particular emphasis on dyslexia. Kathryn made this decision because of the insight and understanding she gained observing her own children’s struggles at school and their subsequent diagnosis of dyslexia. Kathryn is passionate about the importance of advocating for children and young people, ensuring they get the intervention and support they need in school to survive, thrive and develop self-confidence and self-belief.
Kathryn passionately believes in children’s developing sense of aspiration and ambition and has a strong commitment to the power of education and learning. Kathryn’s ambition is to support children young people and adults and challenge the barriers to their learning. Kathryn aims to help all pupils succeed, survive and thrive in education. Kathryn recognises all learners have individual needs and careful intervention and adaptations need to be integrated into the learning situation to ensure educational success for all.
Kathryn is a caring, enthusiastic and invested teacher who enjoys working with people from all backgrounds. She has a passion for overcoming barriers and providing an inclusive curriculum for all learners.
Kathryn firmly believes that having a diagnosis of dyslexia and being taught in a dyslexia friendly way can have a huge impact on a learner’s self-confidence which enables educational attainment. Kathryn is dedicated to supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

Kathryn is a Specialist Dyslexia Teacher (Accredited Teacher Status) and an assessor of children with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD).
Kathryn has a Post Graduate Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties and is an associate member of the British Dyslexia Association and has an Assessment Practising Certificate.
